Phone Rings Goodbye – Brenton Duvall

This is why I love music so much, because you can take songs, sample, mix and make them something completely new and different. Case in point, Brenton Duvall takes an instrumental from the soundtrack of the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind called “Phone Call,” slows it down and adds Mike Posner’s, “Save your Goodbye,” and now you have a new masterpiece.  This track is very addicting, I have had this on repeat for about two days.

Kap Slap – Chris Brown’s Temper

Our favorite frat DJ is back with a Chris Brown/Rihanna mashup. Chris brown according to Busta Rhymes “has been to hell and back.”  He has bounced back pretty quickly and even has gotten Rihanna back as a fan according to her recent interview in Esquire. Check it out.

Follow My Lead – Joe Budden

Remember “Pump It Up,”  well that Joe Budden is gone, instead we have a proven lyricist and 1/4 of the hip hop super group, Slaughterhouse.  This track was off his latest Mood Muzik mixtape and does not disappoint.  Using his storytelling technique, Joe tells us what he could do without.  As a bonus is Shady Records absolutely annihilating the competition in the BET awards Cypher.

Two Door Cinema Club – Something Good Can Work (Twelves Remix)

The self proclaimed Brazilian version of Daft Punk, mix Two Door Cinema Club’s 2009 hit single. TDCC is a indie band from Northern Ireland, and it took a couple years for “Something Good Can Work,” well to actually work, the song peaked this year even though it came out in 2009.

Phantogram – Don’t Move

As you can tell Indie Rock is taking over AOS, there has been so many good new tracks coming from bands I have never heard of, its incredible.  This duo comes from Saratoga Springs, NY, and believe it or not they record their songs in a remote barn, yes, that’s right, a barn.  Sara Barthel and Josh Carter met in Jr. High and then formed Phantogram in 2007.  This barn must have great acoustics because this song is ridiculous, the right blend of cut up vocals, guitar, and keyboard.  Look out for their upcoming EP, Nightlife.

Peter and Kerry – Knees

What can I say about a nice smooth, mellow track great for listening on that late night drive home.  Peter Lyons and Kerry Leatham are two artists from London who released their EP back in March, and are starting to build a pretty nice fan base.  Check out “Knees,” off of Clothes, Friends, and Photos.
