Angus and Julia Stone are a brother-sister duo out of Australia who are more widely recognized for their folky/indie branded sound. Stern, is a house producer who has taken his craft worldwide, playing shows everywhere from Shanghai to Paris; Montreal to Mexico (where he currently resides). Put the two together and you get quite the mix; including sultry vocals over a driving drum beat, soothing strings, and colorful synths that add that little extra spice.

R3K has two banging remixes on his hands here. I first heard his “Fly By Night” remix back at the beginning of summer, where he took a sample from Imogen Heap’s “Just for Now” and mixed it with Lil Wayne’s verses on “Swag Surfin.'” For a while, I had a problem and couldn’t help but hit play on that track everytime I grabbed my ipod. Then just recently, while searching the youtubes, I stumbled across this gem which was apprently released at the same time. This one takes Cudi’s vocals off “Symphonies” and lays it over Florence + The Machine’s “Cosmic Love.” Incredible.

I don’t know what I find more amazing, the fact that the Finnish producer Lenno is able to create dance mixes that are so completely hypnotizing such as Robotic Love, or that the kid is only 16. That’s right, 16! Attacking this track with a Daft Punk-like sound, this song has the energy and bass to get any party started. Whether getting wild at a pre-game or fist pumping out the window on your way downtown, this is definitely one you’re going to want to keep on your playlist. Labtracks- Robotic Love (Lenno Mix)
So upon doing my daily research for the site, I stumbled across this gem that began floating around the internet earlier this year. Cold War Kids have been tearing up the indie scene for years, but with the release of their third album, “Mine is Yours,” the guys of the electro-pop group Passion Pit were able to get a hold of the title track and come up with an addictive remix that is sure to get you moving.

Well it’s been about a week and we appreciate all the great feedback we have been receiving. One of the many comments I received was “What about country?” To be honest that is one genre I know the least about. So to be true to our audience I bring you a remix of John Denver’s classic “West Virginia.” I know this is a stretch but I am really digging the looping of the guitar chords. Named after a tagline from a Pink Floyd poster, Pretty Lights aka Derek Vincent Smith is a college dropout who followed his love of music. He now runs his own company, Pretty Lights Music, in which he offers his and other artist’s albums for free only asking for an optional donation.

This masterpiece is brought to you by a Senior from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
