We Were Promised Jetpacks – Act on Impulse

Scotland’s next big export is a quartet that go by the name, We Were Promised Jetpacks.  I feel like they bring a sort of freshness to the indie scene.  Their first single, “Act on Impulse,” is more of a melancholy jam session, where the vocals take a back seat to the driving drum beat and passenger-side guitars.  With that said, this one makes me want to just get in the car and drive… down the California coast perhaps?

K-OS – Faith Pt. 2 featuring Drake

This just in! Here’s a brand new track from K-OS which actually serves as follow up to one of his more popular songs off his 2010 mixtape, Anchorman. This time, he is joined fellow Canadian, Drake, to add a little swag (and with no autotune!).  Look for Drizzy’s new album, Take Care, dropping later this month.

The Dean’s List – Dear Professor

The Dean’s List is an up and coming hip hop group out of Boston consisting of three guys, Sonny Shotz who is their front man andemcee and Mendoza and Mik Beats who handle the engineering/production/DJ. Here’s their twist on country artists The Band Perry’s smash hit “If I Die Young.”

Eddy B. & Tim Gunter – All Alone

Eddy B. and Tim Gunter are a hip hop duo out of North Carolina, both college students attending UNC and NC State respecitively.  Here’s their latest track, “All Alone” which speaks to the struggles of coming up and making something of yourself and the lonliness that can come with it.  I also did some digging and found “Nowhere to Go,” only fitting as these guys “got nowhere to go but up…”
